The course's aim was to design new concepts of social spaces for the new MOME Campus.
We chose the area, "Heart of MOME" a huge hall to be built in the core of the new campus. It's bent ceiling is supposed to ease the frustration casued by the immense size of its volume. This curvature reminded us of the vast and infinite sky which needs to be met by other forms of nature to become receptible: mountains.
Mountain as an archetype went completely well with the purpose of this course. The most honest social spaces only provides additional surfaces to interact with, the rest is up to the people who come across them.

The mountain consists of 105 hollow wooden blocks – the “rocks” are rendered in 7 different sizes 15 pieces each– starting with a 60 by 60 cm cube up to a 240 cm tall piece.
There is an additional “rock” the “Rectorial Rock”, a 120 cm unit that serves as a lectern.
This huge construction of cubicles is a modular display and seating system which can be laid-up and fixed against the wall with the help of a wide harness.
In diverse configurations, the boxes can furnish various school events such as exhibitions, lectures, fashion shows.
